Why have a recommended browser?
For legal filtering, skipping and muting of content has to happen in real time as the movie plays.
We’ve found that the timing of skips and mutes is sensitive and can vary depending on the internet browser being used. For example, if you’re using a non-Chrome browser—like Microsoft Edge, Arc, Opera, Brave Browser, or Tusk—the skips or mutes might happen a little too early or too late, which means the content doesn’t filter perfectly.
To keep things consistent, all of Clearplay’s filters have been built around the timing of the Chrome browser.

Technically, you can install our Google Chrome extension on Microsoft Edge, Arc, Opera, Brave Browser, and Tusk. However, these browsers have not been tested by Clearplay and can create an inconsistent filtering experience.
