Recommended Browser:

We recommend you use the Chrome browser.

Why Chrome Is Our Choice

Clearplay filters must trigger in real-time as the movie plays.  That is a legal requirement, and it only works when filter timing stays precise.

Chrome provides that precision.  Other browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, Arc, Opera, Brave, Tusk, or ChatGPT Atlas, can cause skips and mutes to trigger too early or too late.  That throws off the filter and makes playback unreliable.

To avoid this, all of Clearplay’s filters are built around Chrome’s timing.

How do I install Chrome?

To install Chrome on your computer, click this link and follow the steps provided.

What About Other Browsers?

You can install the Clearplay extension on browsers like Edge, Arc, Opera, Tusk, Brave, and ChatGPT Atlas.  But we don’t test or support those browsers, and filters often misfire in them.

If you’re having issues with filters in one of these browsers, test the same title in Google Chrome.  If the issue doesn’t happen in Chrome, our support team won’t be able to troubleshoot further.

If the issue does happen in Chrome, email us at care@clearplay.com, and we’ll help from there.

Why Isn’t My Browser Supported?

You can use the Clearplay extension on other Chromium browsers.  What isn’t supported is troubleshooting if filter issues come up while using a browser other than Google Chrome.  This includes status messages like “No Filtering Options Yet,” “Problem Detected,” or filters that don’t trigger on time.
