Why “No Filtering Options Yet” Shows on Amazon Prime or Channels

Prev Next

Amazon.com is a hub for multiple separate streaming platforms, not a single service.  This is why web.clearplay.com will show that we have filtered a movie, while the Clearplay extension says no filter is available when you play it through an Amazon subscription platform — whether your Amazon Prime subscription or one of the Channels for Amazon Prime.

Supported Amazon Platforms

We filter the following Amazon platforms:

How Amazon’s Platforms Work

Each platform assigns the same movie a different ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number).  We link the movie’s filter to the movie’s ASIN because multiple movies can have the same title.  A filter made for the rent/purchase version of the movie available in the Prime Video Store only works for the rent/purchase version of the movie.  We have to build each filter based on the movie’s ASIN.

Why Prime/Channel Movies Aren’t Fully Listed on web.clearplay.com

On web.clearplay.com, the movies on the Amazon tab are only guaranteed to be filtered if you watch them from the Prime Video Store.

For our site to show that a movie is filtered for both the Prime Video Store (rent/purchase) and Amazon Prime or a Channel, we would need automation that performs daily scans of Amazon.com for every filter we’ve created and checks whether each title is also available for Amazon Prime and Channel subscribers.  Amazon is protective of its site and does not allow third parties to scrape it in the way we would need to, so we’re unable to confirm subscription availability automatically and cannot have a dedicated section on our website for Amazon Prime subscribers, as having our agents do the same work by is not an effective practice because Amazon.com doesn’t have a dedicated section for movies that have been added to their subscription platforms.

How to Get a Filter for Your Version

Because we’ve filtered the movie for the Prime Video Store, loading the movie page for an Amazon Prime or Channel subscriber will not prompt you to request a filter.  Start playing the movie, pause the movie, then click the Clearplay extension icon in the Chrome toolbar and submit a filter request.

Requests are only tracked when you use the filter request prompt.  See: How Can I Make a Filter Request?

Requests are not an on-demand system.  We prioritize requests based on demand and feasibility.
