Initial Message Format when taking a service down:

Say which service is down
Provide any initial details
Say what we are doing
Say when we will give another update

Initial Message Example:
May 5th, 1:00 PM Mountain Time: Amazon filtering is currently down. An issue has occured where filtering isn’t working when playing shows on Amazon. We have put Amazon filtering into maintenance mode while the team investigates the problem. We will provide another update in 2 hours.

Basic Messaging Timeline:

Post initial message
Provide the first update in 2 hours
Provide next update at 5pm
Provide updates daily moving forward

Update Example:

Update: May 5th, 2:55 PM Mountain Time: Sorry, we have not yet isolated the problem yet. The team is reviewing any changes with the Amazon website that could be causing the problem. We will provide another update at 5pm Mountain Time.

Note: As soon as reasonably possible, provide a conservative estimation (in the form of a date) for when the problem is expected will be resolved.
